Mode of Action

Atrazine is used to prevent pre-emergence broadleaf weeds in crops such as maize (corn) and sugarcane and on turf. Atrazine is a herbicide that is used to stop pre- and post-emergence broadleaf, and grassy weeds in crops such as sorghum, maize, sugarcane, lupins, pine, and eucalypt plantations, and triazine-tolerant canola. Selective systemic herbicide, absorbed principally through the roots, but also through the foliage, with translocation acropetally in the xylem and accumulation in the apical meristems and leaves.
